Somehow, This Isn’t Covered in the Parenting Manual…

But here we are — raising little humans in a Buy It Now world, where every app has a “checkout” button, every video has a purchase link, and kids think money grows inside your phone.

You want to teach your kids how to save intentionally, spend wisely, invest confidently, and, in general, not treat real money like Monopoly cash, but where do you even start?

Allowance? Chores? Savings jars? That finance podcast you keep meaning to listen to but have no time?

🐷

That’s where The Kids Piggy Bank comes in.

We make money lessons simple, fun, and totally doable, even if you’re still figuring it out yourself.

No jargon, no guilt, just real tools and small actionable steps that build lifelong money confidence.

You don’t need to be a finance expert or throw away your phone to raise money-smart kids.

You just need the right guide and a willingness to begin.

So, Welcome! The Kids Piggy Bank was created by a mom who got tired of “just buy it now, Mom” moments and decided to build something better for all of us.

Hear me: The problem isn’t you or your kids.

It’s the way money’s never been taught clearly — until now.

For Parents Who Want…

✨ A simple framework to talk about money without overwhelm
✨ Tools and trackers that make allowance & savings exciting
✨ Scripts for those tricky “why can’t we just buy it?” moments
✨ Resources to raise kids who enjoy saving, are thoughtful with spending, and give generously.

If you’ve ever thought:

  • “We’re not rich enough for investing.”

  • “How can I teach my kid about money when I’m still learning?”

  • “Allowance sounds great, but where do I even start?”

You’re in exactly the right place. I’ve got you.

Why It Matters to Start Teaching Money Smarts Now (Like right now.)

Money touches everything — what we eat, where we live, how we dream, who we will become.

And yet, most of us were never actually taught how money works.

Spend it? Yes. Manage it? Nope.

So when it comes time to teach our kids, we freeze.

We worry:

“I’m still figuring this out myself!”

“What if I say the wrong thing?”

“How can I teach my kids to save or invest when I barely understand it?”

“I’m still figuring this out myself!” “What if I say the wrong thing?” “How can I teach my kids to save or invest when I barely understand it?”

You’re not alone. The system isn’t designed to make money feel easy, transparent or learnable.

Schools don’t teach it. Most of us didn’t grow up seeing it modeled well.
And honestly? Talking about money can feel more awkward than “the talk.”

But here’s the good news: it doesn’t have to stay that way.

When you give your child simple, age-appropriate tools to understand money, you’re doing more than teaching them to save or spend, you’re breaking cycles. You’re building confidence, curiosity, and compassion. You are opening up an opportunity for lasting communication, trust and learning.

And the ripple effect?

Kids who grow into adults who make thoughtful choices, talk about money without shame, and actually enjoy managing it.

Because the goal isn’t just to raise kids who just have money; it’s to raise kids who know how to handle it, work with it and have it work for them.

How You Can Start Today

This all sounds great, right?

But if you’re thinking, “Cool… but how do I actually DO this as a parent?” Don’t worry.

Testimonials

I wish I’d had these tools as a kid, a young adult, a first-time mom! We’re having the best time learning and practicing as a family. My kids (7 and 5) asked to open their own savings accounts so they can keep better track of their literal piggy bank money. So glad we found The Kids Piggy Bank!
— Ali H.
My husband and I took our 5-year-old to the bank a couple of weeks ago to open up a savings account for them….all thanks to Piggy Bank talk!
— Christy K.
As a nurse and a mother of three, I’ve always felt confident teaching my kids how to take care of their bodies and minds. What I didn’t fully appreciate at first was how deeply financial health is tied to physical and mental well-being. Stress, anxiety, shame, and insecurity around money show up in our health every day.

The Kids Piggy Bank made it easy to start those conversations with my kids in a way that felt natural, age-appropriate, and empowering, not overwhelming. The tools are simple, practical, and grounded in real family life. They helped me turn everyday moments into meaningful lessons without guilt or pressure.

I couldn’t recommend this more to parents who want to raise healthy kids in every sense of the word.

About The Kids Piggy Bank Founder

Hi, I’m Josselyn — mom, small business owner, wife, nature lover, former dancer turned Pilates teacher… and someone who loves to geek out about personal finance (don’t worry, I make it fun).

The idea for The Kids Piggy Bank started with my son. At just 3 years old, while scrolling for Halloween costumes, his response was the same every time:

“Just buy it now, Mom!”

He didn’t realize “buy it now” meant money. And in all honesty I hadn’t taken the time to teach him…yet.

If my sweet, smart kid thought that buying it now was just a magical stuff giving button, how many other kids needed a better way to learn? How many other parents needed more tools to turn these moments into teaching goldmines and not another “I can’t have it!?” meltdown.

So I started creating a skills piggy bank of my own and we are continuing everyday to put more knowledge in that little piggy.

The Kids Piggy Bank is an ever growing bank of resources to help families like mine feel confident, not confused, when it comes to raising money-smart kids.

From one parent to another:

You don’t need perfection, a finance degree, or a million-dollar portfolio — just a willingness to start.
